At the Alpacahoeve Klinkenberg in Sassenheim, we are enthusiastic about our animals. With more than 15 years of experience in the breeding and care of alpacas, our herd’s wool production is among the best in the country, as recognized by the multiple awards our animals have won.

Mating Service

At some point your alpaca mare may be ready to be mated. A mare usually gives off certain telltale signs when she is around 18 or 20 months old. The results tend to be better if you notice when the mare wants to be mated. If you need expert advice in that, we’re more than happy to help out through our cover service. We have various high-quality stallions that you can choose from, based on color and other characteristics. You can visit us with your mare or we can come to you with the stallion you selected. We will discuss the necessary preparations with you based on the scenario you have chosen.

Maintenance

Alpacas are becoming increasingly popular and the number of enthusiasts of these wonderful animals has risen sharply in recent years in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. It is extremely important that these alpacas receive proper care. They need to be shaved every year to produce beautiful wool and stay happy and healthy.
